A virtual convention is....
something to save your money for.
an event to which rubber stampers look forward.
a time when the retailers at RSC offer special deals to their customers.
a rubber stamp convention where my feet don't hurt at the end of the day.
one of my favorite events of the season.
an event I mark on my calendar.
an event before which one visits retailers websites to prepare.
a ton of virtual fun!
a time to rubber stamps.

This is what Inky Whiskers said for the Spring 2010 VirtCon:
You sit in front of your computer for 5 days shopping at virtual booths set up in the virtual convention hall here at RSC. Each vendor offers some kind of convention special to entice us to shop with them & we chat about what we've bought & what we plan on doing with our new toys in another section.
It's a lot like a regular stamp convention that you might go to in your area except you can wear your jammies, go potty w/o waiting in long lines, eat good food instead of snack bar offerings w/o waiting in line, you don't have to carry all your loot around with you all day (your orders will be mailed to you) & you won't have a sore back & feet after spending a day or 2 bouncing off of everybody else in a crowded sweaty hall. There aren't make & takes and demos like a regular show, BUT many of the vendor sites do have tutorials & galleries so we can still learn new things & see lots of examples of how to use what they sell.
You can always pre-shop the sites & make wishlists of items that make you drool. Then check out what is offered at the convention. If your wishlisted items are there, shop till you drop. If not, you know what you want for later. Many of us do it that way.

I know it is a bit early but we need to plan ahead on a few things for this all night partying.
Is someone willing to take over the Bar this convention? I'm not going to be able to serve as bartender & am hoping someone will keep Dad's Killer Margaritas flowing 24/7, along with the chips & salsa?
We also need 2 people to take over DJ duty & the emergency chocolate supply. Convention time is hardly the time you need to have a chocolate crash.
I'll probably drag in late to the VirtCon so want to make sure that there is coverage like last year. LOL
Amy, will the convention floor have lots of super booths? I can't wait, am making my lists & checking them twice. Will the dress code be the same as last year, jammies & fuzzy slippers?

Considering the weather we've been having this year, you might want to include the matching fuzzy robe that goes with your slippers, Ms. Mouse. Dang, it's only 50 degrees right now. I sure hope spring gets here before summer shows up.

A chocolate bar? We have a chocolate bar at the VirtuCon? This is truly the way to attend stamp cons! I try to make sure that I always have chocolate around... various types of milk, dark, and white, some plain, some with add-ins, all with supreme yum factor! I chocolate as much as I stamps!
I hope the dress code has room for fleece house pants and non-fuzzy slippers?

Oh of course! Who's ever heard of a virtucon with caloric snacks? I'm assuming fat free, also? The timing for this couldn't be better, since DH and oldest son will be attending a Lego building event that weekend, and it's payday weekend! That means money for me to spend on stamping stuffs, and not feeling guilty about being at a stamping convention.
